VIJAYAWADA: In tune with the promise made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the government proposed to wrap up the ongoing caste census by February 15, 2024.

A plan has been put out urging ministers and employees to adhere to the set guidelines.

Apart from caste census, information of socio-economic data, employment and education would also be enumerated.

The revised deadline came shortly after a government order highlighted the significance of efficient enumeration and data collection.

The State Government leveraged its extensive network to ensure swift and accurate data collection, paving the way for a comprehensive understanding of the demographic realities within the communities.

The Government planned to finalize the comprehensive survey by February 15, 2024, employing strategies such as door-to-door count, flexibility of adding or deleting for missed individuals, final consolidation of data a d report preparation, and conducting training for taking up mapping of the data.

Village secretariat staff and enumerators will conduct door-to-door visits from January 19 to 28, 2024. Residents who are unable to participate in the door-to-door exercise can register their caste information at village and ward secretariats from January 29 to February 2, 2024.

The final caste census report would be prepared at the village secretariat level by February 15, 2024.

Training for secretariat staff and enumerators might have been concluded by January 11, 2024. The comprehensive mapping of data enumerators, staff, and supervisors would be finalized by January 12, 2024.
