HYDERABAD: Syed Azmatullah Hussaini was elected as the Chairman of the Telangana State Waqf Board on Friday.

Azmatullah Hussain was appointed as a member of the State Waqf Board by the Minority Welfare Department last week. During the board's meeting on Friday, all members unanimously elected Azmatullah Hussaini as the Chairman of the Telangana Waqf Board.

At 47 years old, Azmatullah Hussaini is one of the senior leaders of the Congress, having been associated with the party for the past 23 years. He began his political journey with the NSUI, the student body of the Congress.

Having previously served as the State President of NSUI in undivided Andhra Pradesh, he has held various crucial positions in the Youth Congress. Currently, he holds the position of Convenor, Campaign Committee of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee from April 2021 to the present date.
