HYDERABAD: Screenwriter of magnum opus movie Bahubali, V Vijayendra Prasad Konduri, India's fastest runner of yesteryear P T Usha, and celebrated music director Ilaiya Raja are among those nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the President of India.

Another person among the four nominated is Veerendra Heggade, a philanthropist from Karnataka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid rich encomiums to each one of them in his separate tweets for their contributions in their fields of activity and congratulated them over their nominations to Rajya Sabha.

Vijayendra Prasad is the father of celebrated movie director S S Rajamouli.

Ilaiya Raja is the most famous music director who composed music for hundreds of movies, including scores of Telugu movies.

P T Usha came as a third runner up in 1984 Olympics and missed a medal by a whisker.
