MOTHKUR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana President Bandi Sanjay on Sunday threatened to crack the whip on state officials who, he claimed, are working at the behest of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) once his party comes to power.

In an informal chat with the media during his Praja Sangrama Yatra, which entered Mothkur of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, he said that a list of officials with such behaviour was being prepared. Action will be initiated against them when the BJP wrests power in Telangana, he asserted.

Referring to Minister Srinivas Goud's 'firing-in-the-air' fiasco, the Karimnagar MP alleged that ministers and legislators had turned into 'licensed troublemakers' in the state. Stating that there was a spurt in the incidence of murders and other atrocities, he said that two advocates were eliminated in a span of 15 days. He demanded the immediate enactment of a legislation to provide protection to advocates in the state.

Bandi Sanjay also made light work of the criticism by the ruling party leaders on the alleged misuse of central investigating agencies. "There will be no leader left unscathed in TRS if the BJP really wants to use and instigate the Enforcement Directorate (ED)," he retorted.

He also shot back at the media, asking why only they were asking about it. "In case the ED begins a probe, then BJP will be tarnished as the one instigating the central agency. BJP will never interfere in the functioning of the ED. The law, as always, will take its own course", he remarked.

The BJP state chief also ridiculed the TRS and the Congress over Munugode, claiming that both the parties had beaten a retreat from this Assembly constituency, well before the by-election there. The days are gone when the electorate was swayed merely by a KCR portrait to vote for the TRS, he commented.

Bandi Sanjay also alleged that the TRS government was hurriedly implementing a string of welfare measures like new pensions and Chenetha Bima (Insurance for weavers) scheme after being simply intimidated by the success of BJP's yatra.

He described the Congress as a party that had lost the trust and confidence of the people and called the Left parties as 'sellout' outfits.

The BJP state chief also sought to clarify that he never uttered suggesting Komatireddy Venkata Reddy was in touch with him. Calling the Bhongir MP as a good politician, he acknowledged the fact that he had held deliberations with his brother Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy several times but politics were never discussed.
