AMARAVATI: A minor boat mishap caused anxious moments for a brief while during TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu's visit to the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. The opposition leader was on a tour of the flood-affected areas in the district when two boats carrying TDP leaders collided.

Under the collision impact, several leaders fell off the boats into river Godavari causing panic and commotion for sometime. However, the fishermen who were present there quickly ensured that the boats did not capsize and the leaders brought back on board, to safety.

Devineni Uma, Undi MLA Rama Raju and Tanuku MLA Radhakrishna were among those who faced this mini- but freak accident. With normalcy restored and safety of the TDP leaders ensured, Chandrababu Naidu continued with his tour.

Earlier in the day, the TDP leaders and activists accorded a rousing welcome to their supremo when he entered the West Godavari district. He minced no words in criticizing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his government, alleging that they had failed miserably in handling the situation arising out of the floods.
