Fire breaks out in a building at Punjagutta; Traffic constable makes a heroic effort to rescue a family

A traffic constable serving in the Panjagutta area rescued a family which was struck in a building where the fire broke out at Erramanzil on Friday morning, risking his life and receiving appreciation from the public.

HYDERABAD: A traffic constable serving in the Panjagutta area rescued a family which was struck in a building where the fire broke out at Erramanzil on Friday morning, risking his life and receiving appreciation from the public.

A major fire erupted on the sixth floor of a commercial building near Erramanzil on Friday morning. While some residents managed to escape and immediately alerted the fire brigade, others were struck in the building. However, several individuals who were trapped inside the building were successfully rescued by the police even before fire brigade reached.



Punjagutta traffic constable Shravan Kumar made a heroic effort to save a family from the fire as the arrival of the fire extinguisher was late. Shravan fearlessly entered the building within half an hour of the incident and brought the family out and received accolades from the public.

Punjagutta Law and Order Police constables Dasharatha Ram Reddy and Satyanarayana also rescued some people by breaking windows using dumbbells.

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, whether it was due to an electric short circuit or a leaking gas cylinder. However, the police have confirmed that the fire was brought under control with the help of firefighters and are investigating it further. The incident caused panic among the people.
