GHMC resolves 375 out of 383 rain issues in one day

The mayor said that, since yesterday, 1.5-cm to 6.4-cm rainfall was recorded in various parts under GHMC limits.

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Gadwal R Vijalakshmi said that the GHMC had received 385 complaints from various parts under its limits since yesterday and that 375 complaints were resolved. The remaining complaints were being worked on. The mayor said that, since yesterday, 1.5-cm to 6.4-cm rainfall was recorded in various parts under GHMC limits.

She said that precautions were taken at 197 lakes and teams were engaged to supervise the flow of water into lakes. If required, sluice gates would also be lifted to allow water to recede. To control the seasonal diseases, the entomology wing already took up pre-monsoon activities like fogging, spraying and continuing anti larva activities.

The mayor said that the GHMC was taking all precautionary measures and monitoring the situation. They were also displaying signage boards at the Strategic Nala Development Programme work locations and an official would also be deployed.

The mayor visited the command-and-control room in GHMC Head Office in view of the Red Alert and discussed about the rainfall situation and complaints received with Officer on Special Duty Control room Anuradha.

She said that the citizens contact through 040-21111111 and 040-29555500 to register their complaints. The officials present in the Control are from GHMC, HMWW&SB Electricity etc.

Earlier, the mayor had also visited Rasoolpura and asked officials to expedite the ongoing Nala work.
