BHADRACHALAM: The water levels of river Godavari at temple town Bhadrachalam increased 50.1 ft on Wednesday morning, prompting the authorities to issue a second danger warning.

Considering the heavy inflows reaching Bhadrachalam, the officials expect the water level in river Godavari to soar to 55 feet very soon. Reportedly, a third danger warning would be issued once the water level crosses 53 ft.

Meanwhile, the current flood water level was recorded at 12,58,826 cusecs.

Not more than a month ago, the district had witnessed the worst ever floods from river Godavari, rendering many displaced. While bracing for any eventuality, the authorities fear a repeat of the most recent flood is possible resulting in a heavy loss.

People of the low lying areas were asked to take all precautions and remain at their utmost guard and officials were put on a high alert.
