HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) took action against Vidyuth Jaisimha, the Head Coach of Senior Women's team, after videos surfaced on social media of him drinking alcohol in the team bus.

Jaisimha has been banned from participating in any cricketing activities on behalf of HCA while an investigation takes place.

HCA President Jagan Mohan Rao addressed the issue in a letter to Jaisimha, citing an anonymous email received on February 15 containing videos of him carrying and consuming alcohol in the team bus while accompanying the Hyderabad State team. The videos have been widely circulated on various WhatsApp groups and featured on TV news channels. Expressing serious concern about the matter, he called for a thorough investigation, with any decision to be based on the investigation's outcome.

During the interim period of the investigation, Jagan Mohan Rao directed Jaisimha to abstain from involving himself in any cricketing activities on behalf of HCA.

The controversy erupted with allegations that the coach misbehaved with women cricketers during a bus trip from Hyderabad to Vijayawada four days ago. Jaisimha reportedly consumed alcohol and made obscene remarks during the journey, with allegations that he was encouraged by Purnima Rao. Women cricketers have demanded action against both Jaisimha and Purnima Rao.
