Miniature artist's creations make history

KARIMNAGAR: Capturing the imagination of the fervent nationalist spirit in connection with the Diamond Jubilee of India's Independence, a miniature artist has demonstrated his skill on a grain of rice.

Giving shape to his patriotic fervour, a miniature artist has embedded the national flag in a rice grain.

The artist, hailing from Jagityala district, achieved the impossible, leaving all mesmerized. Dayakar, a famous miniature artist, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate and he also got a recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records for his astonishing artworks.

Dayakar created two miniatures to celebrate the 75th Independence Day. He carved a golden tricolor flag on a small grain of rice. "It took me around 12 hours to make it," said Dayakar speaking about his creation. The second miniature created by Dayakar is a picture of India on a bird's feather. Paying his respect to the great freedom fighters he has also inscribed the faces of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Jawaharlal Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri inside the miniature. "These images are created in one – centimeter size, to cast them inside the map," said Dayakar. "It took about 10 hours to complete the second miniature," he added.

On the occasion of, "Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavam" Dayakar designed these images to contribute to the celebrations and passionately participate in the spirit of freedom, remembering the great struggle and our Nation's victory against all odds. "I wanted to create a unique identity for myself instead of being one among many others," shared the Guinness World Record-holder talking about his intriguing, distinctive and tenacious artworks. The creations of Dayakar are works that require enormous time, effort and an eye for detail to ensure they are relevant to the times and occasion.

These stupendous miniatures received acknowledgment and appreciation from across the world. Dayakar's craft and dedication surprised people. "Many have liked my art and have expressed their admiration towards my art form," said Dayakar. He has also received many awards and laureates earlier for his artworks.
