HYDERABAD: Out of the numerous aspects before setting up an own enterprise, selecting the right-co-founder, to stay tied up with for years and to go through successes and failures, is extremely important.

"Do not make a startup alone. To take the startup to great heights, you need an honest person to share all your thoughts with and it is very important to carefully select the right partner. The success or failure of your startup would depend on the equation between the partners," said Hyderabad-based Unicorn DarwinBox's co-founder, Chaitanya Peddi, to young enterprises at the inaugural gig of T-Hub 2.0.

There were three key takeaways mentioned by him regarding choosing the right partner.

The first one is operational skills, where one would majorly observe the business development, finance and investment points of view of the partner.

The next was behavioural skills, in which the main characteristics would be temperament and personality traits. Too much of anger, too much of an out-going personality or too much of an introverted personality were not the correct qualities of a co-founder.

The third key point would be risk perspective. A balanced risk-taker, who neither believes in taking too many risks, nor someone who completely stayed away from any possibilities, was very important to not let the business remain in the risk of monotony.

The three co-founders of 'DarwinBox' Chaitanya Peddi, Jayant Paleti and Rohit Chennamaneni, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, came together in November 2015 to build a world-class technology product. Their balanced bond and internal communication had led the team to become a Unicorn.

With more than 1.5 million users across 90 countries, 12 global offices and 700+ employees, DarwinBox, a cloud-based HR-tech platform which caters to an organisation's HR needs, became the first company from Hyderabad to cross one billion USD-mark in 2022.
