HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana President Bandi Sanjay may have been the first to set foot in the Munugode Assembly constituency against the backdrop of an impending by-election but he is facing the heat from people at a few places over the price-rise.

As part of his Sangrama Yatra, Sanjay Tallasingaram village of Munugode Assembly Constituency and conducted a 'chai pe charcha' programme to interact with the people.

Speaking on this occasion, Bandi Sanjay said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had not fulfilled any promise which he made to the people. He said that if the people of the state elected the BJP to power next time, their Government would work for their benefit.

Tallasingaram villagers, especially women, expressed their concern about the increasing prices of LPG and other essential commodities. The BJP state chief however sought to downplay it, saying that the additional burden from LPG was only Rs 30. The price-rise was influenced by the international oil prices which, he claimed, went up after the Ukraine war.

The villagers also expressed their displeasure about persisting unemployment to which the BJP State President said that the KCR government was giving all the jobs to its own men and none to the ordinary people.

He also alleged that the State Government was pilfering the Central funds allocated for the State. Funds sanctioned for two lakh houses under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' were also not utilised, he claimed.

Sanjay's emphatic assertions did not appear to cut much ice with the local people whose anger over the price-rise seemed uncontainable. In no uncertain terms, they told Bandi Sanjay that they would vote for a party that would reduce the prices of gas and essential commodities.

Sanjay's Praja Sangrama Yatra also saw the hoisting of the national flag as part of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. With a large number of party activists and people following him, Bandi Sanjay continued the Tiranga Yatra starting from Tallasingaram to Lingojigudem in Munugode Constituency, over a five-km stretch.
