Ace shuttler P V Sindhu outwitted Wang Zhi Yi of China and clinched the fiercely fought women's singles in the prestigious Singapore Open Super 500 trophy, winning laurels.

The score line at the end was 21-9, 11-21 and 21-15 by Sindhu and Yi respectively.

Sindhu remained strong and played some clever shots against the Asian Championships gold medalist. This is a third title of her world tour this year. Drift in the hall was in favour of Yi initially, thanks to the toss. But she had to play against the drifts after the change to ends at the end of the game.

President Ramnath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AP Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and a host of others tweeted greeting her and she thanked every one through reply tweets. She had won Syed Modi International Super 300 and Swiss Open titles this year.




Sindhu will be leading the Indian charge at Commonwealth Games from July 28 in Birmingham. She aced two Olympic medals, two silver and a gold medal in world championships.
