HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy stayed away from the proposed padayatra in Munugode Assembly constituency. Meanwhile, Congress circles have indicated that Priyanka Gandhi Wadra will oversee the party matters in Telangana and Karnataka, which are likely to go polls in a year.

Revanth, who had tendered an open apology to Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy over the foul language used against the latter by Addanki Dayakar at Chandur public meeting, complained of Covid symptoms. He had given swab for Covid test and stayed from the padayatra schedule for 13 km from Narayanapuram to Choutuppal on Saturday.

Interestingly, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy rejected the apology of the TPCC chief and demanded the immediate suspension of Addanki Dayakar.

Venkat Reddy is also angry with admitting Cheruku Sudhakar into the Congress.

With the chasm widening between the two leaders, the Congress is keeping its fingers crossed on how to end the crisis.

It's not clearly known whether Manickam Tagore would be continued as the incharge of Telangana Congress or would he be asked to assist Priyanka.

While Revanth Reddy "isolated" himself, Congress president Sonia Gandhi tested positive for Covid. She has isolated herself, according to a tweet by Communications head of AICC Jairam Ramesh.
