HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has provided a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of a Swiggy boy who died accidentally on duty almost four months ago.

As promised, the Chief Minister provided financial assistance to the family in just a few days. He handed over a cheque of Rs 2 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the victim's family at Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat here on Saturday.

On December 23, Revanth Reddy participated in a meeting held with the gig workers at Nampally Exhibition Ground, where he mentioned the issue of Swiggy boy, who died accidentally four months ago while delivering food. The Chief Minister recalled that he had expected the previous Government to do something to help the family, but there was no response from the then BRS Government.

Revanth Reddy asked the officials to acquire the details of the Swiggy boy. Within a week, the officials acquired the details of the delivery boy’s family and they were asked to meet the Chief Minister at the Secretariat to receive the financial assistance. After receiving the support, the family expressed their happiness with the Chief Minister’s quick response.
