HYDERABAD: The 70th birthday of BRS President and former Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm not only in Telangana but around the world on Saturday.

Telangana Bhavan, the BRS Headquarters, was beautifully decorated with giant hoardings and pink flags congratulating KCR on his birthday. The event was attended by BRS MPs, MLAs, MLCs, other elected representatives, leaders, and hundreds of activists. A special documentary highlighting KCR's political rise and movement was also screened, and a 70 kg cake was cut to mark the occasion of his birthday.

Special prayers were organised in temples, mosques, and churches, along with other social service programs such as the distribution of wheelchairs to the disabled, fruits to patients, and insurance documents to auto drivers.

As per the call given by BRS NRI Coordinator Mahesh Bigala, NRIs all over the world celebrated KCR's birthday by organising blood donation camps, planting trees, and engaging in philanthropic activities. KCR's birthday celebrations have already been held in Australia. Special pujas and food donation programs were organised in several cities, including Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Bendigo, and Ballarat, under the leadership of BRS Australia branch president Kasarla Nagender Reddy. Community leaders such as Uday Reddy, Vishwamitra Mantri Padaga, Sunil Reddy, Shiva Billa, Sukumar, and others participated in the celebrations.

Thousands of saplings were planted across Telangana and other places in response to the request made by Green India Challenge (GIC) chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar, urging everyone to plant three saplings across the state on Saturday.

On the occasion of KCR's 70th birthday, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan sent a letter and a bouquet of flowers to KCR to wish him a happy birthday. A representative from the Governor's office handed over the letter and bouquet of flowers to former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav at Telangana Bhavan.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya also greeted KCR on his birthday and commended him for his bravery in any difficult situation.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended heartfelt birthday greetings to KCR in the Assembly on Saturday. Recognising his four decades of dedicated service in both state and central politics, CM Revanth Reddy conveyed warm birthday wishes to the seasoned leader. He wished KCR to continue playing a pivotal role as an effective opposition leader, contributing significantly to Telangana's ongoing reconstruction and progress.
