Despite the BJP's warning, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui's show took place on Saturday evening in Hyderabad amid a heavy police presence at Silpakala Vedika.

Several BJP Yuva Morcha workers protested outside Silpakala Vedika to prevent stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui from performing. Many BJP supporters were even seen shouting Jai Shree Ram slogans at the venue.

However, Cyberabad police detained protestors in order to prevent them from disrupting the show and the audience at the venue. Telangana police deployed about 500 policemen to prevent any untoward incidents at the venue, as warned by the Telangana BJP party.

Special teams dressed in safari attire were spotted near the event venue. Uniformed police officers have also been stationed around the venue and on the roads leading to the Silpakala Vedika. In case of an emergency, a fire tender is also stationed nearby.

The cops thoroughly screened all visitors before allowing them inside the venue. Barricades were also erected near the venue's entrance to prevent anyone from crashing inside.

BJP MLA Raja Singh stated that his supporters had bought tickets for Munawar Faruqui's performance, but individuals attending the performance were asked to show either an Aadhar card or a legitimate form of identification upon entering.

Meanwhile, a Telangana BJP MLA told Newstap, "Munwar's performance is taking place at Silpakala Vedika amid strict security. Telangana police have provided strict security for a comedian, something I am sure they would not provide to India's Prime Minister.
