HYDERABAD: Union Minister and Telangana BJP President designate Kishan Reddy, along with other party leaders, have been detained on Thursday. Kishan Reddy's convoy was stopped by the police at Shamshabad while they were on their way to inspect double bedroom houses built by the State Government at Batasingharam.

As a precautionary measure, the police house arrested several BJP leaders including Etala Rajender and DK Aruna early on Thursday.

Expressing his anger, Kishan Reddy, along with other BJP leaders including Dubbaka MLA Raghunandan Rao, squatted on the road despite the heavy rains.

"Am I a criminal? Am I a terrorist? I have the right to go anywhere. Can you block a Union Minister's convoy? Is this the kingdom of Kalvakuntla or is this a police State?," questioned Kishan Reddy.

"The BRS Government has made it a habit to arrest the opposition whenever they raise their voice against its failure. The police have kept many BJP leaders under house arrest who wanted to inspect the 2-BHK houses at Batasingharam. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has totally ignored the poor in the last 9 years. No poor has been allotted the double bedroom houses. KCR has built a beautiful farmhouse for himself, but left the poor on the roads," he added.

Kishan Reddy was later forcefully lifted by the police and whisked away from the protest site.
