HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao expressed delight on Thursday that the Yadagirigutta Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Temple had been awarded the "Indian Green Building Council's" "Green Place of Worship" (Adhyatmika Harita Punya Kshetram) award for the years 2022 - 2025.

KCR said that it was an honour to receive this prestigious award for the Yadagirigutta Laxmi Narasimha Swami Punya Kshetra, which was prestigiously built by the Telangana Government. The Chief Minister said that the Telangana temples receiving national and international awards in self-rule was a great tribute to India's cultural and spiritual heritage.

KCR stated that the awarding of the 'Spiritual Green Shrine' to the Telangana temple, as well as the renovation of Yadagirigutta, which was undertaken by the state government while respecting the sentiments and religious traditions of the people, is proof of the glory of Indian spirituality's renaissance.

The Chief Minister noted that the recognition of the modernization efforts made by the Telangana State Government by the "Indian Green Building Council" without detracting from the reverence and holiness of the Yadadri Temple was a great honour for the state government.

KCR said that the presiding deity of Yadadri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy shrine had been restored in an ambitious manner to make it more accessible to the devotees. He prayed the Lord Yadagiri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy shower blessings on the people so that the state of Telangana would prosper.

According to the Indian Green Building Council, this award was announced after considering provisions such as providing continuous services for devotee transportation.

Yadagirigutta Laxmi Narasimha swamy temple had been designated as a "Green Place of Worship" (Spiritual Harita Punya Kshetram) in accordance with the following criteria:

  • For taking up the construction of the 13th century Sri Yadagirigutta Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple without disturbing the sanctity of the Swayambhu and preserving the holiness of the temple without touching the Swayambhu.
  • For preserving the rocks in the inner and outer courtyard of the temple.
  • Established 100 per cent central air condition system along with temple ducting constructions and other beautification works undertaken without any damage to the temple walls..
  • For the special structure to allow natural light to be transmitted into the main temple through a special Sun Pipe.
  • Arrangement of ventilators and windows so that fresh air circulates in all directions when devotees thronged in huge number
  • Built the main temple as well as the ancillary structures entirely with Krishna rock.. thus reducing the heat and cool naturally and help to the environmental protection.
  • Abundant green surroundings prevent the heat effects to a great extent.
  • Provided access to safe drinking water.
  • Construction of ponds which are suitable for the needs of devotees..
  • Allocation of adequate parking space for devotees' vehicles.
