HYDERABAD: Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has taken a dig at the Centre for not keeping its promise of providing houses to the poor and drinking water taps in each household. He has also alleged that the centre has not assisted the Telangana government in 'Mission Bhagiratha' which was, indeed, approved by the NITI Aayog.

KTR on Tuesday inaugurated the Kaithalapur flyover in the city that connects Kukatpally to Hitec City area. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) constructed the flyover under Telangana government's Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) at a cost of Rs 86 crores.

The flyover would facilitate faster commute avoiding traffic congestions at JNTU Junction, Malaysian Township Junction and Cyber Towers Junction. A distance of 3.5 km via Sanathnagar and Balanagar to Secunderabad would also be reduced.

Addressing a gathering after the inauguration, KTR lauded the efforts of the corporators and Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao for their efforts in realising this flyover project. He added that the Government of Telangana had taken up several projects in many constituencies under SRDP.

He said that seven bridge projects were completed in Uttam Nagar, Lalapet, Tukaram Gate, Uppuguda level-crossing, Anandbagh and Hitec City.

KTR alleged that the BJP-led Centre and the opposition parties in Telangana were cheating the public in all aspects. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to Hyderabad next month, KTR sought to know why the Prime Minister was planning to visit the City. The minister said that Modi must bear in mind that he was leading the country. He alleged that the BJP was instigating war in the country on the lines of caste and religion.
