HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy, who along with other leaders met the kin of Naveen who had died by suicide in Siricilla, on Sunday had to face a bitter experience. He received a backlash as the family members declined to take his support and appealed to him not to resort to politicising the death of their son saying that their ward had taken the final plunge out of personal reasons.

On the occasion, Naveen's father Nagabhushanam appealed to the Congress leaders to let them grieve personally and denied support from them. He told Jeevan Reddy that the leaders like him would come and go and asserted that Minister and Siricilla MLA K Taraka Rama Rao was the only leader who looked after them. Facing humiliation from the family members, Congress leaders left Naveen's house.

Chitikena Naveen Kumar (32) died by suicide in Siricilla on Friday by hanging himself in the house when the parents left for daily chores. In the suicide note left at the spot, Naveen Kumar said that he took the extremely step as he could not cope with life. He also said nobody was responsible for his death.

It may be recalled that TPCC president A Revanth Reddy had alleged that the youth had died by suicide as he was disheartened by the TSPSC question paper leakage. Soon, KTR reached out to the family and ascertained the facts. The boy had ended his life as he was not getting the desired software job he was trying for.

KTR assured the family that he would stand by them in this hour of grief. In fact, the minister obliquely referred to this incident and appealed to political parties not to politicise the examination paper leak issue and play with the young minds and their sensitivities.
