NEW DELHI: YSRCP Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav, who is a former cop himself, was the first to catch hold of one of the two accused who brazenly breached security and entered the well of the Parliament while it was in session on Wednesday.

Pandemonium erupted in the Lok Sabha as the two men brazenly leaped from the public gallery into the chamber, unleashed yellow gas from canisters and roared defiant slogans. This brazen act was met with swift retribution.

Gorantla Madhav, who was in the house at the time of the incident, bravely caught hold of one the accused, tied his hands behind his back. Other MPs then physically subdued the intruder before handing him over to the security personnel.

A video circulating online showcased Parliamentarians ruthlessly thrashing one of the trespassers. JD(U) MP Ramprit Mandal, a witness to the incident, said that RLP leader Hanuman Beniwal was the first to overpower the accused alongside other MPs. The fellow MPs then praised Madhav for his brave act.

The perpetrators have been identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan. Interestingly, Sharma gained access to the visitor's gallery through an invitation from Mysuru Lok Sabha member Prathap Simha.

Chaos escalated, spilling beyond the chamber doors. According to BSP MP Ram Shiromani Verma, Parliament was plunged into a haze of yellow smoke as one intruder unleashed the noxious substance. "He was subdued and apprehended by a collective effort of MPs, who then discovered another object within his shoe emitting more smoke," Verma recounted, detailing the frenzied sequence of events.

While pandemonium reigned inside the Lok Sabha, similar chaos unfolded outside the Parliament gates. A man and woman, identified as Anmol and Neelam, mirrored the brazen act of their counterparts, dousing the area with coloured gas and shouting slogans.

All four individuals have been apprehended, and investigations are currently underway.
