HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Monday held his first review meeting at the Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, which he inaugurated here on Sunday. He reviewed the progress of Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Scheme with the officials of the department concerned.

In the wake of the Supreme Court's permission to continue the drinking water project works under Palamuru-Rangareddy lift scheme, CM KCR Chief discussed the progress in the works for drinking water supply meant for old Mahabubnagar and Rangareddy districts during the review meeting.

The Chief Minister issued orders to the officials to supply water to Karivena reservoir by July and lift water up to Uddandapur by August this year. The officials have been asked to complete the pending works at Narlapur, Edula, Vattem, Karivena and Uddandapur reservoirs. KCR also instructed the officials to complete the remainder of works related to pump houses, power substations and the 'conveyor system' which is being used to shift water from one reservoir to another.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress in the works of Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu, Bhima and Koil Sagar projects in Palamuru district. He ordered the officials to complete the remaining works by June this year.

Representatives of old Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts – Ministers Niranjan Reddy, V Srinivas Goud and Sabita Indra Reddy, MLC Challa Venkatram Reddy, MPs P Ramulu, Manne Srinivas Reddy and Ranjith Reddy, MLAs Marri Janardhan Reddy, Kale Yadaiah, Alla Venkateshwar Reddy, Patnam Narender Reddy, S Rajender Reddy, Guvvala Balaraju, Harshavardhan Reddy, Lakshma Reddy, Anjaiah Yadav, Prakash Goud, Mahesh Reddy, Manchireddy Kishan Reddy, Jaipal Yadav, Metuku Anand and Pilot Rohit Reddy, Telangana Sports Authority Chairman Dr Anjaneya Goud, Telangana State Warehousing Corporation Chairman Saichand were present.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Chief Minister’s Secretary Smita Sabharwal, Special Chief Secretary to Finance Rama Krishna Rao and Special Chief Secretary to Irrigation Rajat Kumar were among the officials who participated in the review meeting.

KCR’s first full day at office at Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat

A day after inauguration, KCR arrived at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on Monday afternoon. He entered the new Secretariat building through the main east gate.

The Chief Minister first visited the Yagashala venue where Sudharshana Yagam was performed on Sunday. He participated in the second special puja performed by vedic scholars.

Later, KCR headed straight to his office on the sixth floor. During his time at the office, the Chief Minister went around the offices of his secretaries, additional secretaries and PROs and inquired about the furniture and other arrangements made in their chambers.

The Chief Minister also walked through the corridors and issued necessary directions to the officials.

Later, KCR returned to his chamber and held a meeting with public representatives who came to meet him.
