HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) visited the new Secretariat premises on Tuesday to take stock of the progress of works. The BR Ambedkar Secretariat, as it was named, is nearing its completion and is scheduled to be inaugurated on February 17, 2023.

During his tour around the Secretariat premises, the Chief Minister, accompanied by key officials, reviewed the progress of works and the pace at which they are being executed. While most of the building’s construction was accomplished, works on the interiors, network, landscaping, and parking are at various stages of completion.

The CM asked the officials to ensure that the entire building was ready before the inauguration. He also emphasised on stepping up the pace of construction besides augmenting the manpower to complete the construction within the prescribed deadlines.

As directed by KCR, the Telangana Government has named the new Secretariat after Dr BR Ambedkar in September 2022. The magnificent new edifice is a seven-story structure with a built-up area of 7 lakh square feet and is being erected at a cost of Rs 650 crore.

The Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat Building will be inaugurated by KCR on February 17 (Friday) between 11.30 a.m. and 12.30 pm, as per the muhurtham fixed by astrologers.

Vastu Puja, Chandi Yagam, Sudarshana Yagam and other Vedic rituals will be performed in the morning prior to the inauguration.
