HYDERABAD: A woman constable, who stopped Rachakonda Commissioner of Police DS Chouhan from entering an SSC examination centre with his mobile phone, earned the latter’s praise on Thursday.

With the SSC question papers leakage scandal sending shockwaves in Telangana, the police and the education department officials have been strictly enforcing the rules with no scope for any exceptional relaxations. DS Chauhan, along with other officials, visited one of the SSC examination centres in LB Nagar for a first-hand assessment of the situation there.

And just when the Rachakonda CP was about to enter the centre through the main gate, Kalpana, a woman constable on duty there, politely stopped the senior official and asked him to deposit his mobile phone. DS Chouhan diligently passed on his mobile phone to her before stepping inside. Impressed by the commitment shown by the woman constable, the Rachakonda police boss not only showered praises on her but even honoured Kalpana with a cash reward of Rs 500.

Speaking on the occasion, Rachakonda CP Chauhan said that mobile phones were not allowed inside the examination centres. He said that they were taking all necessary steps to ensure that the examination was conducted smoothly, keeping the future of students in mind. He also warned offenders with strict action if they resorted to the leakage of question papers or exposing them with outsiders during the examinations.
