NEW DELHI: Rouse Avenue Court extended custody of BRS MLC K Kavitha by three more days. However, the court upon her request allowed her to meet her minor children.

The Delhi Court on Saturday further remanded Kavitha to Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till March 26 in the money laundering case connected with the alleged liquor policy scam.

Special CBI judge Kaveri Baweja of Rouse Avenue Courts passed the order after Kavitha was produced in court on the expiry of her ED remand on Saturday. The ED sought a 5-day custody for the BRS leader, but the court granted custody for three days.

Kavitha also moved an application for bail in the case. However, the ED submitted that the bail plea is not maintainable at this stage. The judge then said that the bail plea be heard on the same date when Kavitha's ED custody would end.

“The ED is repeatedly asking me the same questions. This is a politically motivated, false and fabricated case. I will fight against this case legally,” she said while entering the Court on Saturday.

Kavitha was arrested on March 15 by the ED from her Hyderabad residence.

Home cooked food

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja also permitted medically prescribed home food for Kavitha considering her health condition. Kavitha urged the court to allow home food as she was suffering from heartburn and burning sensations. “It is noted that in the order dated March 16, 2024 permission for providing a medically prescribed diet has already been issued. However, considering the request made on behalf of the accused today, she is permitted to be provided with home-cooked food as requested,” the order said.
