India gearing up to host Miss World beauty pageant after 27 years

The much-anticipated 71st Miss World 2023 pageant is set to take place this November

Sini Shetty, this year’s Femina Miss India, will represent India at the international pageant

Glam girls from 130 countries will compete for the coveted title in the month-long event and flaunt their beauty and brains

The showpiece event in world beauty pageants will feature rigorous tests in auditions, sports, challenges and philanthropic initiatives

India last hosted Miss World in 1996 👑

Greek model Irene Skliva, then 18, was crowned Miss World in that pageant held in Bengaluru

ABCL, Amitabh Bachchan's production company, which hosted the event in 1996, faced backlash from protesters in Karnataka

India has won the prestigious Miss World title six times so far
