GUNTUR: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that NTR has left an unforgettable mark on the administration and welfare of the state. Marking the death anniversary of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NTR, the TDP chief participated in the program organised at the party central office in Guntur.

TDP chief asserted that it has been forty years since the party emerged and still has the people’s support due to the reforms implemented by NTR. “Welfare schemes such as reservations to BCs and women, setting up educational institutions such as Gurukulams, constructing irrigation schemes such as SLBC, SRBC, Telugu Ganga, single window system for giving permissions to industries, kg rice for Rs. 2, were initiated by the TDP,” he added.

Speaking about the actor’s films, Naidu claimed that the roles portrayed by the legendary actor not only contributed to entertainment but also passed a social message. “I was in awe when I first met NTR during the shooting of the film Anuraga Devatha. I was overwhelmed to know his inclination towards serving people,” he recalled.

Claiming that the TDP follows the footsteps of NTR by focusing on the irrigation schemes, welfare activities, and development, Naidu took a dig at the YSRCP government headed by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy alleging that all the activities carried out by the TDP during NTR and his regime were revoked.

The TDP chief alleged that the welfare schemes in the state were in crisis due to the debts incurred by the YSRCP government and questioned who would pay the Rs 10 lakh debt. He said Jagan’s government has failed in all aspects be it in irrigation as the Polavaram project remains incomplete, in the education sector by merging the schools, etc.

“YSRCP government is restoring to atrocities against all sections of people to create panic among the people and opposition parties,” said Naidu. Calling on the cadre to fight against all odds and bring down the YSRCP government, the TDP chief promised to fulfil NTR’s promises to the state.
