GUNTUR: Guntur Range DIG Trivikram Verma, along with Nellore district SP Ch Vijaya Rao, said on Friday that the place, which was initially decided for the public meeting in Kandukuru by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was suitable, but the meeting was held at a different place that led to the stamped. Addressing a press conference on Friday at Umesh Chandra Conference Hall, the DIG said that the police had taken all security measures according to the police department's protocol.

The DIG also claimed that the TDP cadre conducted a bike rally without permission and said that the vehicles were not parked at designated places, bursting of firecrackers, and setting up flexes on the road had also acted as a catalyst for the incident.

"A case was registered under section 174 CrPC at Kandukur Town Police Station following a complaint," the DIG said, adding that a DSP level officer would be appointed to conduct further investigation on this incident.
