Doctor, son killed in Vizianagaram road accident; Mother, daughter critical

VISAKHAPATNAM: A doctor and his son were killed while his wife and daughter sustained grievous injuries in a ghastly road accident in Vizianagaram district in the early hours of Monday. The four were returning home in Palasa from Visakhapatnam in their car when the accident happened. The mishap occurred after midnight on National Highway Number 16 at Peddinayudupeta village of Nandigam mandal in the district. The condition of both the injured was stated to be critical.

Dr Made Ramesh, one of the deceased, was a medical superintendent at the Palasa Government Social Hospital. His wife, Dr Lakshmi Prasanna, is a prominent gynaecologist. The couple, along with their children, were returning to Palasa from Visakhapatnam.

Reportedly, a lorry hit their car and the father and son, sitting in the front seats, died on the spot. The condition of the mother and daughter was critical and were being treated at a Visakhapatnam hospital.
