GUDUR: A major accident was averted with no casualties being reported after a fire broke out in the Ahmedabad-Chennai Navajeevan Express train at Gudur railway station.

The fire reportedly erupted from the Pantry of the train and left the passengers in panic. However, the vigilant railway officials brought the fire under control at Gudur railway station where the train was halted for about an hour, causing inconvenience to the passengers.

Meanwhile, as a major accident was avoided and no casualties were reported due to the vigilance of railway officials, the passengers and higher authorities breathed a sigh of relief and the train left for Chennai one hour late.
