Fissures in Jana Sena-TDP alliance, Pawan Kalyan announces 2 candidates as tit-for-tat move

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan has openly revolted against alliance partner TDP for announcing candidates unilaterally without following "Mitra Dharma" (friendship alliance).
Speaking during the Republic Day celebrations at the Jana Sena office in Mangalagiri on Friday, Pawan said, "It is not appropriate to announce TDP candidates in Araku and Mandapeta. Dharma should be observed while in alliance. But TDP ignored it and announced candidates unilaterally," Pawan said.
Pawan then announced that as a consequence he too has decided to announce two seats unilaterally for the Assembly elections.
"Jana Sena will also contest two seats from Razole and Rajanagaram. Just like Chandrababu (Naidu), I am also facing pressure in the party and I hope he understands my compulsion. Only if we move forward together, we can build a strong structure. I am going to stay silent for the people of the State. The alliance does not stop at just MLA seats and will continue beyond that ," Pawan said.
He stated that the announcement of candidates by the TDP had caused concern to the Jana Sena leaders and apologised to them.
Pawan Kalyan hinted that Jana Sena would contest one-third seats as part of the alliance. “I know how many seats we should contest,” he said.
The Jana Sena president said that he maintained silence when TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh made certain comments about the Chief Minister’s post. “I kept quiet for the sake of the State's interests,” he said.

Pawan Kalyan to Delhi to meet BJP leadership
Pawan Kalyan will soon visit New Delhi and hold discussions with the BJP over alliance.
Chandrababu Naidu is likely to go to New Delhi after the meeting to seek clarity on the alliance between the TDP, Jana Sena and the BJP for the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh.
