Kandukuru stampede: Modi, YS Jagan announce Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia

The Chief Minister asked the officials to provide the necessary assistance to the victims' families

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the families of those who died and Rs 50,000 for those who were injured in the Kandukuru stampede in Andhra Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on Twitter, "Pained by the mishap at a public meeting in Nellore, AP. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased and the injured would be given Rs. 50,000".

While expressing his shock over the Kandukuru stampede incident, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy also announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the kind of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.

The Chief Minister, who was in Delhi on official visit, expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and announced ex-gratia payments of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured. He asked the officials to provide the necessary assistance to the victims' families.
