Two MPs, one MLA cross to TDP from YSRCP; Chandrababu names Vemireddy as Nellore MP candidate

AMARAVATHI: Two MPs and an MLA from the YSR Congress party have joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday in the presence of TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu.

While Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad joined at Amaravathi in the morning, Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakara Reddy joined at a meeting conducted at Nellore. Naidu announced him as the Nellore MP candidate on behalf of the TDP. He said that Prabhakara Reddy’s victory was certain. He derided Anil Kumar Yadav who was shifted by YSR Congress from Nellore MLA and was fielded from Narasaraopet Lok Sabha seat.

Naidu launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy citing the caustic remarks made by Sunitha Narreddy, daughter of the late YS Vivekananda Reddy about the killing of her father and the accusations she had made against YS Avinash Reddy and also Jagan.

Naidu referred to the abusive comments posted on APCC chief YS Sharmila who is the sister of Jagan and said the Chief Minister had encouraged his party social media teams to pass pungent remarks against his own sibling.

Naidu, at “Raa Kadali Raa” campaign rally of the party at Gurazala welcome Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu into the party.

He said that only those leaders with character and credibility were being ushered into the TDP. Naidu predicted a huge victory for the party.

He interestingly did not announce the candidacies of Vasantha Krishna Prasad and Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu from their respective constituencies. Both these leaders belong to Kamma caste.

Only after conducting an IVRS survey, leaders were being admitted into the party, said Naidu. He claimed that the TDP was an epitome of development, while the YSRCP stood for destruction.
