ANANTAPUR: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader JC Prabhakar Reddy, notorious for motor-mouthing and intemperate behaviour in public, was at it again on Monday. The target of his overbearing attitude this time was none other than Anantapur District Collector Nagalakshmi.

Creating ruckus at the Spandana programme organised at the Anantapur District Collectorate, he showed his nasty side by threatening the woman collector, throwing papers on her table and even belittling her saying she is unfit for her position. Prabhakar Reddy also issued an open warning, asking her to 'be careful'.

What brought the Tadipatri Municipal Chairman to the Spandana programme and provoked him to be so rude? Well, the mercurial leader was upset with the district authorities issuing a 'no-objection certificate' (NoC) for a piece of land in Sajjaladinne of Tadipatri. He wanted a solution to it, by raising it in the Spandana programme. But thanks to his crude and unwarranted behaviour, the land dispute took a backseat as the former MLA ended up courting a new controversy.

Showing his aggressive side, Prabhakar Reddy attacked the woman collector with a barrage of uncourteous remarks. He even pushed aside the security officer of the district collector when the latter tried to restrain him. The TDP leader also behaved rudely with the media personnel after emerging from the meeting hall.

District Collector Nagalakshmi however maintained her composure and dignity. Reacting to the incident later, she clarified that she had no intention of complaining against JC Prabhakar Reddy for his rude behaviour. She hastened to clarify that the NoC was issued for the land in Sajjaladinne in complete adherence to the established rules. She also stated that anyone was free to complain to the higher authorities against her and her administration if they had any reservations.
