100 gas cylinders explode after truck catches fire in Prakasam district

ONGOLE: A massive fire broke out in a truck carrying LPG gas cylinders in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday night. The incident happened on the Anantapur and Amaravati national highway near Daddawada of Komarolu mandal in the district. The truck was traveling from Kurnool to Ulavapadu.

According to reports, the engine of the truck caught fire due to a short circuit. In no time, the fire spread across the truck, causing 100 out of 300 gas cylinders to explode one after the other. The loud noises of the cylinder explosions caused panic and commotion among the residents of nearby villages.

Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident as the driver and the cleaner quickly got off the vehicle after noticing the fire and escaped unhurt. Upon learning about the incident, the police and rescue teams visited the spot and brought the situation under control.
