AMARAVATI: Government teachers in Andhra Pradesh have said that the app, in which they were asked to enter their attendance on a daily basis, had technical issues due to a large number of teachers entering attendance at the same time. Teachers of schools in areas with poor signal, hilly areas and remote villages are facing this problem and said that if the government provides devices with good connectivity they would follow the app system. They said that if attendance doesn't get registered due to technical issues, their pay would be deducted, which was unfair.

The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department asked the teachers, staff and employees in the public school system to register their attendance through a mobile app from September 1. The authorities were asked to complete the registration process in the apps provided by August 31.

Officials of the education department said that employees who didn't have an Android mobile could register their attendance through the headmaster's mobile or from their colleagues' mobile.

The education department said that the policy would be made applicable in the State headquarters MEO, district offices and directed the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, DEOs and Headmasters to ensure that teachers and employees installed the app for attendance registration.
