HYDERABAD: The extravagant 'Lakme Fashion Week' will kick off with its opening show on October 11. The event is jointly organised by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Lakmé. The event will end with the much-awaited 'Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale' on October 16.

The popular cosmetic brand will be presenting its skincare trend statement 'Lakmé Vitamin C range' in collaboration with Pankaj & Nidhi, a clothing brand. Gujarat Titans, an Indian Premier League (IPL) team, has also come on board to collaborate with the event to present a dynamic streetwear collection in partnership with ace designer Kanika Goyal.

The fashion week will offer two showcase areas (the Runway and the Atelier) for designers and will continue to endorse sustainability, inclusivity and diversity through cutting-edge innovations and environmentally conscious initiatives. All showcases will also be streamed live across several OTT platforms - Jio TV, Voot and FDCI.

Speaking on the occasion, FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi said, "As we navigate through the return of in-person showcases, fashion enthusiasts can expect electrifying and dynamic presentations that are rooted in design compositions that present themselves as nothing short of art on the runway."

Head of Innovations at Lakme Sumati Mattu said, "We are excited to bring you this year's edition of Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI and bring alive our theme for this season 'Ready For a Close Up'. The theme encourages a celebration of owning your beauty and wearing it with confidence. At Lakmé we have continually strived to innovate with the evolving Indian woman as our forever muse. This year, more than ever, we have scaled up on iconic collaborations with leading designers to create an unforgettable fashion and beauty experience."
