HYDERABAD: As Sankranti approaches, Tollywood gears up for a major box office clash, with several films vying for audience attention. In response to the intense competition, Tollywood producers recently held discussions to address the challenges associated with the simultaneous releases.

Dil Raju, a prominent producer who participated in the meeting, expressed concerns about the negative impact of misinformation circulating on social media. He urged individuals to seek and share accurate information about the industry, emphasizing the importance of understanding the facts before making statements.

Dil Raju specifically acknowledged actor Ravi Teja for deciding to withdraw his film from the Sankranti competition, which he deemed a positive development.

Dil Raju stated, "The industry is getting a bad name with the news coming on social media. Know the facts and write. We discussed with the producers who announced the release date for Sankranti. If a movie steps back, it is not like something has happened. Last year, only three films were hyped, and now we have five films in competition. We all took a decision together. Especially thanks to Ravi Teja and People's Media. This is a good development."

Damodara Prasad, another producer present at the meeting, highlighted the cooperation among producers and thanked those who were considerate about the ground reality. He specifically thanked the makers of Ravi Teja's film "Eagle" for their understanding.

Amidst the Sankranti race, films like Mahesh Babu's "Guntur Karam," Venkatesh's "Saindhav," Prashant Varma's "Hanuman," and Nagarjuna's "Nasamiranga" are set to release.

With Ravi Teja's film stepping aside, four films remain in contention for the festive season.
