Megastar Chiranjeevi. The man who doesn't need any introduction. The man of the masses and the man who redefined Telugu cinema. When you talk about stardom in the Telugu film industry, the first name that pops up in everyone's mind is Chiranjeevi. Such is his stature. Chiru celebrates his 67th birthday today.

Chiranjeevi was born on 22 August 1955 in Mogalthuru, a village in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. His original name is Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad. He started off his film career with Punadhirallu but his first released film was Pranam Khareedu. Initially, Chiru used to do supporting characters and antagonist roles. The film which rose him to stardom was Khaidi. After that, there was no looking back for him.

In a career spanning over four decades, Chiru delivered many industry hits in Telugu cinema. At one point, he was the highest-paid actor in Indian cinema. Chiranjeevi won seven Filmfare Best Actor awards and 3 Nandi Awards. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in 2006.

Chiru entered politics in 2007 by starting his own party, Praja Rajyam. Later, he dissolved it in the Congress party. He left politics and made comeback to films in 2017. After his comeback, Chiru acted in Khaidi no:150, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Acharya. He is currently working on Godfather, Bholaa Shankar and Mega 154. We wish Chiru a happy birthday and hope he delivers many more blockbusters in the coming years.
