HYDERABAD: Though actor Vishal works predominantly in Tamil cinema, he is a notable hero in Telugu as well. Most of his films have a simultaneous release in Telugu too. Vishal is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Laththi. The Telugu teaser launch of this film was held recently in Hyderabad.

Writer Vijayendra Prasad and actor Karthikeya attended the event as chief guests. Speaking at the event, Vishal said that he played the role of a constable who has a seven-year-old son. He said that he also didn't shy away from sporting a salt-and-pepper beard during the initial portions of Laththi. He also said that he has no inhibitions to play a father's role on screen.

Vishal opined that constables play an integral part in our police system and their stories deserve to be told on the big screen. "We often play the role of higher officials in movies. Many people asked me why actors don't show interest in playing constable roles. Tamil Nadu has 1.4 lakh constables but only 400 higher officials. Constables only operate through lathis. They don't have personal lives too," said Vishal.

He said that he is dedicating Laththi to all constables in the country. Directed by A Vinoth Kumar, Laththi is slated for release in December. Sunainaa plays the female lead in it.
