'Kantara' reigns at the Telugu Box office

HYDERABAD: The trade aspect of films is as unpredictable as the success of the film. Sometimes films from the maiden make it big, and sometimes films from other languages not only make it to hit status but also rules the box-office trade. This time, it's a Kannada flick, 'Kantara,' at the weekend Telugu box office.

The film and the filmmaker were complete strangers to our people a month ago. Upon its release in the maiden language, it gained huge popularity and got dubbed & released in Telugu on October 15, turning out to be the first choice for audiences on Saturday & Sunday in AP & Telangana states. 'Kantara' scored Rs.4.5 CR share in just two days of its release, with strong & powerful word of mouth.

On the other hand, our own new releases like Aadi Sai Kumar's 'Crazy Fellow' could not attract audiences, while 'Boyfriend for Hire' saw zero openings.

Our biggie, Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Godfather,' has generated much, too as it nears the end of its run. Regardless of language, it's the content that rules the box office too!
