Karthi opens up on Kaithi 2's shoot

Kaithi is one of the biggest blockbusters in actor Karthi's career. This 2019 film was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featured Karthi in the role of a prisoner who is on a parol. Towards the end of the film, the makers hint at a sequel to it.

Recently, Lokesh Kanagaraj created his own cinematic universe by combining the stories of Kaithi and his latest film Vikram. In the latter, we get various references of Kaithi. Now, everyone is pretty excited about the upcoming instalments of this cinematic universe. The most anticipated upcoming film in this universe is Kaithi 2.

During one of his recent media interactions, Karthi was asked about this sequel. Answering the same, he said that Kaithi 2 will get on the floors once Lokesh Kanagaraj wraps up his ongoing project with Thalapathy Vijay. Most likely, Kaithi 2 will get started in 2023. We have to see how Lokesh indulges the world of Vikram in Kaithi 2. More details about this project are expected to be announced soon.

As of now, Karthi is prepping up for the release of his upcoming film Viruman. Directed by M.Muthaiah, this film is gearing up for a worldwide release on August 12.
