HYDERABAD: Mrunal Thakur got wide acclaim for her performance in the recent blockbuster Sita Ramam. The film turned out to be a game-changer for the young actress. Currently, she is looking forward to her next film Pippa, in which she plays the role of Ishaan Khatter's sister. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, Pippa features Ishaan in the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta.
Meanwhile, Mrunal said that she was criticized by people when they came to know that she is playing Ishaan's sister. She said that they questioned her choice by saying, "If you play Ishaan's sister now, you won't be paired alongside him as a romantic interest in the future."
However, Mrunal wants to break that stereotype and play characters that excite her. She is not worried about the film's success and is always open to taking feedback from the audience. She said that audiences are much more accepting now and are willing to see her in versatile roles. On the other side, she also said that many of her friends lost some good roles because they were asked to play the lead actor's sister or wife.
