Ramya Krishna reunites with Superstar after 23 years

Superstar Rajinikanth signed a film under the direction of director Nelson Dilipkumar. Titled Jailer, this film is being bankrolled by Sun Pictures. It features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the female lead. Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar is playing a key role in it. Now, it is reported that senior actress Ramya Krishna will be playing a pivotal role in the movie.

As per the sources, Ramya Krishna started shooting her portions today (Aug 10). Jailer marks the reunion of Rajini and Ramya after the 1999 blockbuster Padayappa. Ramya's act in a grey-shaded role in Padayappa remained one of the best performances in the history of Indian cinema.

She later played a cameo in Rajini's Baba, but Jailer marks her reunion with Rajinikanth in a full-fledged role. Ramya's inclusion is now raising anticipation around her character. People will be expecting her character to be as iconic as her role in Padayappa.

Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for Jailer. It is slated for worldwide release next year. Meanwhile, Ramya is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming pan-India film Liger. Starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the lead roles, this movie is slated for release on August 25.
