Rashmika Mandanna breaks silence on 'Kantara' controversy

HYDERABAD: Star heroine Rashmika Mandanna has been facing a backlash from her homeland Karnataka for the last few months due to various reasons. Netizens allege that she isn't concentrating on Kannada films and is only acting in movies in other languages.

Her comments on the recent blockbuster Kantara also brought her a lot of criticism. When she was asked about her response to that film's success, Rashmika said that she haven't watched the film. Later, Kantara's actor-director Rishab Shetty also took an indirect dig at Rashmika in an interview.

While she was at a store's launch recently, Rashmika was asked about all these issues. Responding to her statement about Kantara, Rashmika said, "I was asked that question within 2-3 days of its release. I didn't watch the film at that time. When I watched it, I liked the film and also congratulated the entire team. I also got a reply from them. Everything is good between them. People don't know what happens inside. We can't put a camera on our personal lives and show it to the public. So, what people say about our personal lives doesn't matter. It's left to people to talk what they want to."

When asked about the news of Kannada producers planning to ban her, Rashmika said, "I haven't been banned yet. So, I can't comment on it." Responding to the Kannada fans' backlash, Rashmika said, "I just have love for them. So, I don't know what else to say about it."
