3 arrested for bike thefts in Ghatkesar; 12 two-wheelers seized

HYDERABAD: The Ghatkesar police have arrested three persons including two minors for their alleged involvement in bike thefts in the Ghatkesar Police limits of Medchal district and seized 12 two-wheelers from their possession. The prime accused in the case was identified as Sai Charan (21).

Giving details of the case, Assistant Commissioner of Police Naresh Reddy said that the accused were addicted to alcohol and chose bike thefts as a means to earn instant money. They would steal two-wheelers parked outside houses in the localities of Madipalli Ghatkesar.

He said that they also would extract petrol from the fuel tanks of the bikes and sell them. The ACP said the gang was suspected of its involvement in many previous offences and the investigation was on in this regard. According to the senior police official, the total value of the stolen two-wheelers would be around Rs 10 lakh.

The ACP congratulated the crime team that apprehended him at Yannampet flyover. Ghatkesar CI Ashok Reddy, DI Jangaiah and other police personnel were present on the occasion.
