3 arrested for Gadwal highway dacoity; Rs 6 lakhs seized

GADWAL: The sleuths of Alampur circle and Gadwal police jointly nabbed three accused involved in a highway dacoity case and recovered an amount of Rs six lakhs, a pistol, a car and a DCM vehicle on Friday.

A gang of eight dacoits allegedly waylaid a lorry carrying iron load on NH44, abducted the driver in their car and thrashed him. They also shifted the material from the lorry into the DCM vehicle. The incident occurred on January 1, 2022.

The police, based on the complaint lodged by the victim, formed a special team and arrested the accused. The accused were identified as Rafi, Ramajaneyulu and Jaffar. The others involved in the dacoity are absconding.
