4 youngsters, addicted to lavish life, caught with 4-kg ganja in Sileru

SILERU: A four-kg haul of ganja during a random check at Sileru revealed startling facts on how a group of well-educated youngsters, including a couple of software techies, chose the narcotics route to make a quick buck. Four kgs of ganja was seized and four software employees were caught by police at Sileru in Alluri Seethramaraju district on Tuesday.

The men were identified as Gandikota Lakshmisai from Dilshuknagar, Ch. Chandrashekar and Sheikh Kizar Ahmar from Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh. Another accused B Kannuluga had allegedly supplied the banned substance to the three. The men travelling in the car were caught by the police during a random vehicle check. On being questioned, the youngsters told the police that they had come from Hyderabad for a trip.

When the police grew suspicious and searched their car, they stumbled on four kilograms of ganja. They immediately seized their mobile phones and the car. Four accused were arrested, while another accused has absconded, said the police. During their questioning, the police found out that the accused were all in the age group of 25 years and despite being well-educated, had chosen ganja peddling to make easy money. Two of the accused are reportedly techies working with software companies.

It is also believed that they got used to living a lavish life and were unable to come out of this habit. Because of this, they chose the narcotics route to earn a quick buck to cater to their financial needs.
