6 arrested, Ganja, cars worth Rs.1.2 Cr seized

HYDERABAD: The sleuths of Special Operations Team, Malkajgiri Zone along with Choutuppal Police, conducted joint operation and nabbed six interstate drug peddlers, who were indulging in procuring contraband Ganja, near Choutuppal Toll Plaza on Sunday night.
They seized 360 kg marijuana, two Maruti Ertiga cars, one Maruti Brezza car, eight mobile phones and Rs 10,000 cash, all worth around Rs 1.2 crores.
The accused were transporting marijuana from Vizag to Maharashtra via Hyderabad.
They were identified as Kanumareddy Pavan Kumar, Manda Sudheer Babu, Kotipalli Lova Raj, Milkula Teja, Pawan Manohar Tambole and Santosh Ghante.
According to reports, the six accused were contacted by Jithu, who hailed from Odisha and the main procurer at Vizag, and hired them to transport the ganja. Jithu along with two more of his accomplices was still absconding and the police are on the look out for them.
